Drift (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is a dream journaling app. This page explains what data we collect, why, and who it's shared with. Your dreams are private: only you can see what you log.
Information we collect
- Account information: email address and account identifiers, via our authentication provider (Supabase), or your name/private relay email if you sign in with Apple.
- Dream content: the text, voice transcripts, and any AI-generated interpretations or images you create in the app. This can reveal mental-health-adjacent information, so we treat it as sensitive: it is not sold, not shared with third parties for advertising, and not used for cross-app tracking.
- Microphone & speech recognition: used only to transcribe your spoken dream entries into text. Audio is processed for transcription and is not used for any other purpose.
- Purchase & subscription status: handled by our payments provider (RevenueCat) to manage your subscription.
- Usage & analytics: basic product analytics (e.g. which features are used) via PostHog, to help us improve the app. This does not include your dream content.
Who we share data with
We use a small number of service providers to run Drift, and share only the data each needs to do its job:
- Supabase: account authentication and database storage.
- RevenueCat: subscription and purchase management.
- PostHog: product analytics.
- Apple: if you choose Sign in with Apple.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share your dream content with any third party for advertising purposes.
Your choices
You can delete your account and associated data at any time from within the app's settings. If you have questions or want to request deletion manually, contact us via the Support page.
