Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Drift mobile application, website, and related services (“Drift,” the “App,” or the “Service”).

By downloading, accessing, purchasing, or using Drift, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Drift.

1. Drift

Drift is a dream journaling application that may provide features including:

• Written dream journaling
• Voice-to-text dream capture
• Dream reminders
• AI-generated dream interpretations
• Dream summaries
• Symbol and theme identification
• Recurring-pattern analysis
• Advanced Insights
• Dream artwork
• Dream Alarm
• Dream intention tools
• Lucid-dream-related cues
• Sleep and wake reminders

Features may change over time.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Drift. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you represent that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian where required. Drift is not intended for children under 13.

3. Your Account

You may need to create an account to access some Drift features. You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate account information
• Maintaining the security of your account
• Protecting access to your device
• Any activity that occurs through your account

You must notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Your Dream Content

You retain ownership of dream entries, notes, prompts, recordings, and other original content you submit to Drift. By using Drift, you grant us a limited license to process that content solely as reasonably necessary to operate and improve features you request — for example, to store your journal, transcribe your speech, generate an interpretation, identify patterns, create dream artwork, generate personalized insights, or provide Dream Alarm functionality.

You should only submit content you have the right to use.

5. AI-Generated Content

Some Drift features use artificial intelligence to produce results such as dream interpretations, symbol and theme analysis, pattern detection, summaries, dream artwork, and other generated insights. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, subjective, or inappropriate.

Dream interpretation is inherently subjective. Drift does not claim that an AI interpretation reveals the objective, scientific, spiritual, or definitive meaning of a dream. You are responsible for deciding whether and how to rely on generated content.

6. Not Medical or Mental Health Advice

Drift is intended for journaling, reflection, entertainment, and general informational purposes. Drift is not a doctor, therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, sleep specialist, medical device, diagnostic service, or a substitute for professional care.

Nothing provided by Drift should be treated as medical, mental health, psychiatric, psychological, or therapeutic advice. Do not use Drift to diagnose, treat, prevent, or manage a medical or mental health condition. If you have concerns about your physical health, mental health, sleep, or safety, consult a qualified professional.

7. Dream Alarm

Dream Alarm is intended as a personal sleep and dream-journaling feature, and may include wake alarms, notifications, audio cues, dream-intention prompts, lucid-dream cues, and sleep and wake scheduling.

You are responsible for confirming that:

• Your device has sufficient battery
• Your device volume and notification settings are appropriate
• Required permissions are enabled
• Your device is functioning properly
• You use another alarm when missing an alarm could create significant consequences

We cannot guarantee that an alarm, notification, sound, or cue will always occur at the requested time. Operating-system restrictions, battery conditions, silent mode, Focus settings, notification permissions, device failures, software bugs, or other factors may affect alarm behavior.

You should not rely on Drift as the sole alarm for situations where failure to wake could create danger, financial loss, missed travel, missed medication, missed work obligations, or other serious consequences.

8. Lucid Dreaming and Dream Influence Features

Some Drift features are designed to support dream recall, intention setting, lucid-dream practices, or dream-related experimentation. Results are not guaranteed. Drift does not guarantee that you will remember a dream, have a lucid dream, dream about a particular subject, that audio cues will appear within a dream, that a dream will have a particular emotional outcome, or that any particular technique will work for you.

If sleep-related audio or notifications interfere with your sleep, stop using those features.

9. Subscriptions

Drift may offer paid subscriptions, including monthly and annual plans. Available plans, prices, and features may vary by location and over time. Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store are billed through your Apple account. Unless canceled, subscriptions automatically renew according to the terms presented at purchase.

You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple App Store account settings. Deleting Drift does not automatically cancel your subscription.

10. Free Trials and Introductory Offers

Drift may offer free trials or introductory offers to eligible users. Eligibility is generally determined by Apple and may depend on your previous subscription history. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription may automatically convert into a paid subscription at the price disclosed when you began the trial. Trial duration and pricing are shown before purchase. Drift does not control all Apple billing rules or eligibility decisions.

11. Refunds

Purchases made through the Apple App Store are generally subject to Apple's refund policies. Drift does not independently control App Store refunds. If you want to request a refund for an Apple purchase, you may need to contact Apple directly.

12. Free and Paid Features

Drift offers both free and paid functionality. Free features may be subject to limits. Paid functionality may include additional dream interpretations, Advanced Insights, dream artwork, Dream Alarm, audio features, and other premium functionality.

We may add, remove, modify, or reorganize free and paid features over time. If a material change affects an active paid subscription, we will handle the change in accordance with applicable law and platform requirements.

13. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Drift for unlawful purposes
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Drift systems
• Reverse engineer Drift except where legally permitted
• Interfere with the operation of the Service
• Use automated systems to abuse Drift infrastructure
• Upload malicious software
• Use Drift to violate another person's intellectual property rights
• Submit illegal content
• Attempt to bypass subscription restrictions or usage limits
• Exploit bugs or vulnerabilities
• Use Drift in a way that imposes unreasonable load on our systems

We may restrict or terminate access for abuse of the Service.

14. Generated Artwork

If Drift generates artwork from your dream, the output is generated by artificial intelligence and may resemble concepts, styles, or visual elements found elsewhere. We do not guarantee that generated artwork is unique. You are responsible for how you use, publish, or share generated artwork. Rights in generated content may also be affected by applicable law and the terms of the third-party generation provider.

15. Intellectual Property

Drift and its original content, branding, software, design, interfaces, logos, graphics, mascots, and other materials are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you ownership of Drift or its intellectual property. You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell, or commercially exploit Drift's proprietary materials except as permitted by law.

16. Third-Party Services

Drift depends on third-party services, including providers for cloud hosting, databases, authentication, AI processing, image generation, speech processing, subscription management, and analytics. Third-party services may experience downtime, errors, policy changes, or service interruptions. Drift is not responsible for failures caused solely by third-party services beyond our reasonable control.

17. Availability and Changes

We aim to keep Drift available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may update Drift, add or remove features, change the interface, perform maintenance, change technical providers, or discontinue portions of the Service. We may also discontinue Drift entirely, subject to applicable law and subscription obligations.

18. Privacy

Your use of Drift is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

19. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Drift is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no guarantee that Drift will always be available or error-free, that AI output will be accurate, that dreams will be remembered, that Dream Alarm will always function exactly as expected, that generated content will meet your expectations, or that use of Drift will improve sleep, mental health, dream recall, or well-being.

Some jurisdictions do not permit certain warranty exclusions, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

20. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Drift and its owners, operators, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of Drift, including losses related to reliance on AI-generated interpretations, missed alarms or notifications, lost dream entries, data loss, service interruption, subscription issues, generated content, or third-party service failures.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

21. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Drift and its operators from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your misuse of Drift, your violation of these Terms, your violation of another person's rights, or content you submit or share through Drift.

22. Termination

You may stop using Drift at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these Terms, abuse or interfere with the Service, engage in unlawful activity, or create security risks.

Termination of your Drift account does not necessarily cancel an Apple subscription. Subscription cancellation must generally be handled through Apple.

23. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where consumer law requires otherwise. Any dispute will be handled in accordance with applicable law.

24. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we may provide notice through Drift, our website, email, or another appropriate method. Continued use of Drift after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
